CYNRIX® Shock Pads — Engineered Underlayment for Football Pitches
What It Is
CYNRIX® shock pads are engineered foam underlayment systems installed beneath artificial grass on football pitches. They cushion player impact, improve ball behaviour and playing quality, and extend the service life of synthetic turf surfaces.
The Technology Behind It: Patented Perforation
The standout feature of CYNRIX® is its patented perforation, built around a six-hole pattern.
Rather than the usual approach of punching holes first and then bonding layers together, we punch in a single step. This keeps the six-hole pattern perfectly registered through every layer, with even spacing and a large open area. Adhesive and lamination residue cannot clog the holes, so the effective open area stays at its maximum.
The result: water moves through faster, standing water is minimized, and safety and playability both improve. The pads hold their shape and perform consistently, which makes them well suited to heavily used football pitches at every level.
Six-Hole + One-Step Punching — What It Delivers

- Patented perforation for clear product differentiation
- Six-hole layout for markedly better drainage
- Single-step punching for uniform holes and even spacing
- Holes punched after lamination, so alignment is exact
- Quicker drainage and less standing water
- Safer surfaces in use
- Stable underlayment structure
- Built for intensive use
Where They Are Used on Football Pitches
CYNRIX® shock pads serve football facilities of all kinds:
- Professional and Semi-Professional Pitches — stadium and training grounds requiring consistent, reliable performance.
- Community and Municipal Pitches — high-use local facilities that need to stay playable across the season.
- Multi-Sport Pitches — shared surfaces where football is played alongside rugby, GAA, hockey, and other sports.
- Indoor and Futsal Facilities — synthetic surfaces where drainage and dimensional stability matter.
- Training and Academy Pitches — intensive daily use demanding durability and consistent shock absorption.

Installation
- Confirm the ground is clean and level. CYNRIX® shock pads are normally laid in the same direction as the artificial turf above.
- Roll out the pads row by row across the pitch, working toward one side. For seams between rolls, we recommend a hot air gun together with hot melt tape.
- Once every 3 rolls of CYNRIX® shock pads are down, artificial turf rolls can be installed on top.
Testing
CYNRIX® shock pads undergo testing for impact absorption, thickness, density, dimensional stability, and drainage. Football pitch systems can be tested to the relevant sports standards and association requirements.
